1. Selected Text: When you use the summarize feature, the text you select on a webpage is temporarily processed.

2. API Keys: Your OpenAI or Gemini API keys are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API.

3. User Preferences: Your settings (language preference, model selection, custom prompts) are stored locally.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect personal information
• We do NOT track your browsing history
• We do NOT store your selected text on any server
• We do NOT have access to your API keys
• We do NOT use cookies or tracking technologies
• We do NOT collect analytics or usage data

Data Processing

How Your Data is Processed

1. Selected Text: When you click "Summarize", your selected text is sent directly from your browser to the AI service you configured (OpenAI or Google Gemini). This extension acts only as an intermediary and does not store or log this data.

2. API Communication:

   • If using OpenAI: Data is sent to api.openai.com
   • If using Google Gemini: Data is sent to generativelanguage.googleapis.com

3. Local Storage: All settings and API keys are stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.sync. This data never leaves your browser except for Chrome's built-in sync feature if you have it enabled.
